Lovely, sweet, gentle Meg is long-haired, thick coat red in color, her foxy prick ears are thick and stand up, and one of them has a jaunty bend to it. Her tail has been docked, so she may have been a working dog, but then again she displays no herding behaviors whatsoever. Initially quite shy, she did not seem to know what to make of petting and rubbing at first, but with all of the attention that has been lavished on her she is now seeking out a good head, neck and ear rub, and is getting acclimated to whole body rubs. She does not have any separation anxiety at all. Energy level: couch potato, takes frequent naps, but also interested in the comings and goings at her foster home. Currently fostered with: 12 yr old boy, 2 Jack Russell terriers (who would be happy to start a scuffle, but Meg does not engage) and a border collie. Housetrained: goes out to bathroom, but needs regular bathroom schedule, would not "make it" inside all day by herself. Crate training: not currently crated, happy to sleep in laundry room with another dog or by herself Leash training: comfortable with leash/collar, however, due to some stiffness and weakness of back legs, she is best suited for strolls around the yard but really does enjoy short leash walks. Her foster mom takes her on short walks up and down her driveway, which has a gentle grade. Some ambling in her gait (see video). She is on Dasuquin joint supplement but no medication. Once she gets out and about and warmed up she can really march around. Socialization: She appears to have had very little socialization or been a stray for quite awhile, but she is really enjoying being a part of a family at her foster home, and craves a routine that she can count on. She has very good dog manners. She only shows a little bit of interest in other dogs but is very conflict-avoidant. She is mellow, agreeable and really enjoys her new life - off the the streets, or let loose from a chain which we believe could have been her situation. Barking: have never heard her bark Chewing: she hasnt chewed anything. May need to soften hard food as Meg has some fractured and worn teeth.
